Our vineyards nestle Amongst the Colli Orientali del Friuli.

Located between the Julian Alps, which protect them from the cold northern winds, and the Adriatic Sea, which brings to them the warmth of the Mediterranean breeze, the Colli Orientali del Friuli have an ideal micro-climate for the production of red and white wines, which allows a slow and gradual maturation of the grapes.

Bivio Romanut

A small gem, nestling among the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where our Ribolla Gialla Monviert is born.

Located in the upper part of the Bivio hill, the vineyard, less than one hectare, can count on continuous ventilation from the mountains and on a sun exposure that provides high luminosity, from the early hours of the morning to the last rays of sun in the evening.

From the marly terrain facing south-south east we produce a modern, up-to-date Ribolla, which is a prime example of a “hillside wine”.

Perfect for pairing with pasta dishes, this is a straightforward, well-rounded yet fresh-tasting wine.

Monviert

The vineyard on the hill overlooking our cellars, in Spessa di Cividale, could only take its name from the company, Monviert.

Watched over by the small church on the top of the hill, the vineyard where the Friulano Monviert grows is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the greatest number of hours / light possible.

The 2.4 hectares of marly soil watch the sunset, thus capturing the very last glimmers of light before nightfall.

The natural ventilation of the Valle del Natisone does the rest, thus providing the perfect conditions for the Friulano grape variety.

Col Rusal

In the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the Col Rusal vineyard provides the marly soil where two of Monviert’s most precious gems are produced.

On the top of Col Rusal, 1.8 hectares of vineyards nestling in the finest “ponca” soil (marl and sandstone), are caressed by the breeze off Mount Matajur and receive full sunlight all day long, providing ideal conditions for ripening the Schioppettino grape. An ancient native grape variety that expresses all its engaging and elegant character in the Monviert vineyard.

In the middle of Col Rusal, surrounded to the west and north by deciduous forests 1.4 hectares of vineyards produce Sauvignon Monviert , which here find the ideal micro-climatic conditions for preserving its characteristic aromas.

From the east, the vineyard receives the first rays of sunlight in the morning, while the light, steady breeze from the Judrio river valley impedes maturation due to high summer daytime temperatures.

On these hills, thanks to the strong day-night thermal excursions, Sauvignon achieves an optimal vegetative-reproductive balance.

Fornalis

To the north, towards Cividale del Friuli, is Fornalis, a vineyard with 25 year old vines, full of of quality and “wisdom”.

Less than a hectare of marly/clayey soil, with an exposure that captures the first rays of the morning and keeps them until the afternoon: lying on a hill, well-ventilated and away from humidity of the valley floor in the evening and early morning, Fornalis hosts the plants of the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Monviert.

The history of this ancient wine, “red sap” of enological Friuli, speaks the language of our vines, which with maturity express all the charisma of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso.
